I installed the fitting without thinking to inspect it for any potential problems.I turned the water on and my to my surprise, the fitting leaked.I removed it and examined the fitting.There is a bored hole into which the water inlet fitting is inserted. There is an o-ring seal between these two parts, the o-ring sits in a grove machined on the OD of the water inlet fitting.The problem with the connector I received was that the finish on the bored hole was irregular.The plating job was irregular and there was scoring on the ID.There was no way an o-ring could seal against that surface.Rather than return the connector, I polished the ID and replaced the o-ring with on with a slightly larger cross-sectional area.Now it works.It's a cleaver design that allows for easy installation.Just be sure to inspect the sealing surface prior to installation
