General Pump Telescoping Spray Wand - 6-18 Feet Long, Model# DLTG18A Review

I purchased this tool to clean out my gutters around the house.The side of my house slopes away so the extra reach is necessary.I use it in conjunction with a commercial duty pressure washer, gutter elbow and high pressure nozzle.

The first thing to mention is that these are tricky to use when they are fully extended.You will need to pull DOWN on the unit when you trigger the spray (it acts like a rocket nozzle when using the gutter elbow).The entire unit tends to dance around, even with the harness.I recommend having one person man the actual pressure washer (wheel it around, wrangle hoses, etc.) while the other concentrates on directing the spray with the wand.

I have a major complaint with this unit and that has to do with using it for the first time.The unit extends via two nested aluminum pipes that are held in place with a spring loaded clip.The hose runs along the inside of these pipes.The problem is that these pipes are essentially FROZEN SOLID and will NOT budge when you first get the unit. I used penetrating oil on each joint and also lubricated the hose and that did not work.I was able to clamp the end into a vise and repeatedly lunged my full body weight (250+ lbs) to get it to move (1/2" at a time).Yes, this is with the spring clips released :-).Using this method it took about 30 minutes of pulling (1/2" at a time) to get both parts fully extended.Once the pipes were fully extended I hosed then entire thing down with lithium grease.Now it slides very easily by hand.I have to imagine that the original lubricant (if any existed) melted out as this product was shipped from overseas?

Although getting the unit into working condition was a pain, I am not aware of any competing product.In fact, it seems that most pressure washer fittings are made by General Pump overseas.If anyone is aware of -quality- fittings that don't corrode I would be interested in hearing about it!

NorthStar Pressure Washer Surface Cleaner - 11.5in. Dia. Size, Model# FCL300BEM22MLNS Review

I bought a surface cleaner from a "big box" store that was lousy. It broke halfway into the first use.

After a little research, I found this Northstar Surface Cleaner available at a local Northern Tools location. It's a solid, well-built metal unit. Super-simple to assemble--just screw on the extension to the base.

The only problem I had was initially the cleaning heads didn't rotate very well. I "tweaked" the angle of the heads (used a crescent wrench to move the threaded heads) so there was more "thrust" and then voila!, it worked like a champ.

There are cheaper surface cleaners, but like every tool the better built stuff usually costs a little more. This is well worth it in my view. I cleaned my back patio, both walkways and then my driveway a few hours. (Note that I did have to go back and wash off the loose residue from the concrete. This cleaner does a good job of "blasting" the gunk up, but not pushing it in one direction to remove it from the surface completely.)

Comet Pump Pressure Washer Pump - 2.5 GPM, 2700 PSI, 5 HP to 6.5 HP Required, Model# VRX2527G Review

I bought this pump last year to replace the one that failed on my 8hp Generiac pressure washer. This pump is not ceramic like the original, but has already lasted longer than the original unit. It bolted on just fine, I had to get an adapter for one of the fittings, but no big deal. This unit has been a good replacement for a power washer that is used by the neighborhood for washing their house before painting. I don't know if it would hold up for professional, but for us it has been fine. 3 houses done, and it is still working. To powerfull for washing cars though, it took the paint right off my montero bumper, and the labels off my fiberglass ladders.

Oil and Water Separator - Air Compressor Review

I wanted to quickly review this product to tell you about my experience with it.

I used teflon/plumbers tape to make sure my connections were sealed tightly so I would not lose air. At first the separator functioned great for about a year. Kept all of the moisture out of my air tools!

However, a year later the separator formed a crack in the acrylic housing and began leaking so much air out that it caused my compressor to turn on every 5 minutes! I understand why they used acrylic so the person could tell if it was full of water and needed to be drained.

The point is however, acrylic, no matter how thick, is not designed to hold pressure above 50 PSI (Pressure Per Square Inch). And since most air tools require 90 PSI or more, the separator will not stand up to that pressure for very long.

I think it would make a better solution to make the separator out of metal, since it can hold up to great pressures more, and the person just needs to remember to drain their separator same time they drain their compressor.

In conclusion, I like these things when they work, however I don't recommend this product and I highly recommend the buyer to spend more money on a metal unit. That is all...

6.25 horse power from a 9.5 amp motor? They must be pretty small horses! Even so this is quite simply the most powerful wet dry vac I've ever used. It makes dust collection on portable power tools a breeze. A dedicated toolvac with a current sensing switch is more convenient.( Fein , Porter Cable, Festo , etc.) But this is a lot cheaper and moves more air. It's alsovery quiet compared to other vacs supposedly rated in the 5 or morehorsepower range. You get Two sets of tools with it. One for the large hoseand one for the small hose. I think I'd rather have one hose of betterquality and longer length though. The threaded hose attachment is a giantimprovement. How many times have you tried to move your shop vac by thehose only to find it loose in your hand ? No more.The filter that comeswith it is also a vast improvement. It is a pleated canister that iswashable when it finally gets clogged up. That means no more changingfilters when going from dry to wet pick up. I washed mine the other day andset it in the sun to dry. It got ran over by a truck so it is no more. Itwas my truck and I was driving. I got a clean stream filter instead of theoriginal. It seems to get fine dust a little better. For drywall dust Ireally recommend the drywall dust bag filters. They go a long time beforeclogging up. Much longer than the canister filters. For general grub workand heavy clean up I really like this vac. When I burn it up in a couple ofyears I'll probably get another one . By then they'll probably be rated at11 amps and fifty horse power.

It works by venturi effect and the supplied tube (3/4")probally is way oversized for the 1650 psi unit I have. I read that it works with a 2500 psi unit, which I may rent to get this working.

Northern Industrial Replacement Air Compressor Filter Review

This uses some steel mesh to act as an air filter instead of paper or fabric. The only filtering this will do is from having the air change direction a couple of times. Do your compressor a favor and get it a real filter, or you may be buying a new compressor.

I ordered this adapter along with the CURRENT Bosch 3725DVS Random Oribital Sander. The intent was to provide suitable connection between my Fein Turbo VAC II and the 3725DVS. This connector is not for that model sander.The 3725DVS's dust bag mounts to a one peice, cast aluminum base.This castinghas a built-in integral dust port. There is no provisions for simply unscrewing the dust port from the casting to allow use of the new adapter, as one reviewer suggested. Contact a Bosch Service Center and order the appropiate connector. Bosch Hose-to-Tool Adapter, part number: RS006.Or order the 15' Vacuum Hose, part number: VAC001. The Vacuum hose contains the RS006 Adapter. Both Parts can be found on Page 209 of the Bosch Power Tool & Accessories booklet.The Bosch Service rep that I contacted, owns the same 3725DVS sander and the VAC001 Vacuum Hose. He has been using it for some time and was very high on it. Upon his suggestion, I now own the VAC001.A very good product. Now, back to this particular adapter, (Bosch 1 609 200 933 Hose Vac Adapter).It does fit the Fein and many other tools. It performs very well in those applications. Not a lot to be said other then the product does not cause any flow restriscion as others I have do.Either section can be run as if is was the only attached hose.Both on does split the pressure as one would expect.I have others where the openings on force a half flow (restricted openings).This is well built and comes with gasket.

The unit is more flimsy in person than the pictures seem to show. The plastic does flex a bit up and down so that it can 'hover' over the concrete when you have a turbo disc on.

For those of you who have never 'ground' concrete with a grinding disc or turbo disc, there is a LOT of dust created. This dust is very bad for your lungs and I suggest a full silicone seated mask for your face in addition to this unit. This unit seems to pick up at least 90% of all the dust that is created if not a bit more.

I would've gave this a better score of the mounting wasn't so darn difficult. The worm clips that come with it slide around a lot and the muzzle gets pulled about where the vacuum hose pulls. This unit cannot be used effectively in conjunction with a shallow cutting/grinding disc for cutting unless you get an arbor to get the disc to sit out further. And even then, the dust spews out all over. This unit seems most effective and only really designed for sanding/grinding on a flat surface.

The fifty foot hose reaches to every part of my house, and that I love about it.However, it really needs a hose reeler to wind it back up for the storage.It gets tangled so easily that I spend more time unwinding it than I do vacuuming with it!If you had a large wall to wind the hose, that would also take care of the problem.I would recommend this hose for the quality of the product, but just be aware that it needs lots of space when you put it away.

Air Hose 360 Degree Swivel Connector - 3/8" NPT - Milton - S-657-1 Review

These swivels rotate on two axes and allow your air hose to reach your air tool's air input port from any angle without binding. This means you won't have to fight the stiffness of the hose while trying to hold or position the air tool. Once you have these, you'll wonder how you got along without them. I've installed them on almost all of my air tools.

Make sure when you order these swivels that you order the correct size for your tool. They come in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" NPT. These sizes refer to the inside diameter of the fitting. The most common size on hardware store air tools is 1/4". The larger sizes are found on tools requiring substantial airflow to operate properly like large grinders.

Also make sure if you have a high-flow air tool that you aren't using the tiny quick-connect fittings that seem to be the default on most hardware store air tools. These fittings have only a 1/4" air passage and will restrict the airflow and performance of a high-flow tool. You should also be using a minimum of 3/8" ID hose (1/2" would be better) with the bigger tools if you want the performance you paid for. I use the 3/8" (P-Style) quick connectors on all my air tools and I use 1/2" hoses for most applications.

Note that there are knock-offs of these connectors made by Dyna-Flo and some no-name manufacturers. While Dyna is a quality manufacturer of air tools, their swivel connectors are made of plastic and won't last as long as the Milton brand which are machined from billet aluminum. The others fail and start leaking at the seals in even light-duty use. I'm replacing them all with Milton brand when they fail. Buy the Milton's and you'll be happier in the long run.

This product was just as avertised.Its very light and easy to use on an air gun.The color is easy to see among the dirt on the floor.
It doesnt have a tendency to kink.If anything it does get a little brittle when the temperature drops below 40f.
Not sure about wear and tear as yet.
